Bush's Brain: Not for heavy lifting

With Kevin Phillips new take on the Religious Rights invasion of the GOP, it is clear that the old guard republicans, the Goldwater wing of the party have had enough. Coupled with this new release is Bartlett’s Imposter, which dismantles the conservative heralding of the Bush administration. Both are must reads and well sited from the GOP point of view.

With the secular division of the GOP coming unglued and the human side of political debate bubbling to the surface it is necessary that we all take a moment and hear an extended interview with Kevin Phillips. On Democracy Now!, hosted by Amy Goodman, there is a 20 minute interview with Phillips and his views about the Bush administration. The following link will get you started and please pay close attention to Kevin’s view of Bush as an intellectual.

Iran has long range nuclear missiles

In the next couple of weeks you will witness what Norman Solomon dubbed War made Easy. War and the prospects of war are now in full swing at all the major networks. Banner headlines of “Iran must be stopped” and “Iran will not have a nuclear weapon” or “Serious consequences will be dealt to Iran” will fill the corporate media space and the White House will have its first victory, in the second installment of the Bush preemptive agenda.

The disinformation from corporate media outlets will be both enchanting and predictable. Iran will be clouded as an unstoppable force bound by wickedness and radical Islamic ideology. The fiction and spinning will then be echoed throughout punditry and reverberate within each citizen’s home or church. Disinformation and incorrect facts will turn into viable and undeniable truth; the corporate radio shows will toss these half truths and whole lies endlessly.

Remember that this propaganda war has now begun in early March 2006 and will continue through the summer and into September when new and unbelievable revelations will be announced about the Iranian nuclear capability. I venture to speculate that the Iranians will at this time be responsible for a medium to long range missile which will be capable of delivering a nuclear warhead to our troops in Iraq (the nuclear warhead will not exist but these are just details). Quick strike missions will be forwarded by the president and called for by both houses of congress, for no one can look soft on terrorism/Islam during a midterm election season. The political push for war and the political need to be re-elected will be a nexus of more disinformation and propaganda. Thus by the end of 2006 the United States will be at war with Iran and Iraq.

An ode to peace and the war monger

What difference does it make to the dead, the orphans and the homeless, whether the mad destruction is wrought under the name of totalitarianism or the holy name of liberty or democracy?

The Policy of Incompetence

I just don’t know what to say. Almost 20 hours before Katrina, Bush knew of the impending disaster. Experts warned of the doom which would befall the Gulf Coast and dismantle the levee system. Incompetence and arrogance has become a nexus of inaction and hubris in this White House.

Those who have doubted all the criticism as leftist and liberal,
Those who have cursed the names of free thinking individuals,
Those who have voted for this bungler,
Those who absorb the daily nonsense of corporate media,
Those who brand the W swastika as a claim to true patriotism,
Those who worship the G-O-P as G-O-D,
Those who feel that we are good and we are on the right track,

Kneel down and pray to your God forgiveness,
Kneel down and beg for redemption,
Kneel down and ask why you have been so unaware and blind,
Kneel down and sob out for true light in your hour of covered shallowness,
Kneel down and ponder the relevance of your existence,
Kneel down and scream for righteousness and justice, for which you have lost,
Kneel down and begin anew for your time of salvation will soon come.
